The New Interdisciplinary School June Newsletter          CONGRATULATIONS, GRADUATING CLASS OF 2014!!   GOOD LUCK IN KINDERGARTEN!  WE ARE PROUD OF YOU! MAY IN REVIEW On behalf of all the staff members of NIS, I'd like to thank you for all of the delicious baked goods and heartfelt letters you wrote for Staff Appreciation Day. Every member of our staff contributes a unique part to the learning experience at NIS, and reading about your children's growth throughout the year made us feel proud and appreciated.        This past month, several of our classes hatched ducklings in their classrooms, and watched caterpillars turn into butterflies!  The children truly enjoyed these hands-on science projects!        We know you also all enjoyed seeing your children perform in their class plays!               SPEECH NEWS  A WORD from Your Speech Therapists... In this month's issue: Speech Actions FUNDRAISING NEWS The NIS Mother's Day Plant Sale was very successful.  Thank you to the staff and parent volunteers who made this possible!  Our inventory of NIS sweatshirts is running low!  We have the following zippered sweatshirts in stock: ADULT RED sizes S & M, ADULT BLACK sizes S, 2XL & 3XL, ADULT GRAY size S, and CHILDREN'S size S in GRAY & RED! Throughout his life, Rich was actively involved in helping NIS and other non-profit organizations that helped children across Long Island, so his family and friends pulled together to form a foundation to continue his generous work in his memory. NIS has been a proud recipient of the funds raised at the Richard J. O'Brien Golf Outings for the past few years, and has once again been chosen as a recipient of a portion of the funds raised at the 2014 Outing. We hope you can join us!
