Our Favorite Storybooks

Today we start our Special Event celebrating our favorite storybooks and their authors.  Parents are joining us as we feed Clifford a bone, find Spot's hiding place, match the different sizes of The Hungry Caterpillar as he eats his way towards turning into a butterfly!  Our students have made their own classroom books which are on proud display for all to see.  We are so proud of our beginning authors!

Week of the Young Child

April 14th through 20th is when we are celebrating the Week of the Young Child.  This year's theme,  Early Years are Learning Years, certainly supports the goals of our NIS programs. We will combine the celebration with our monthly theme exploring Authors and Early Literacy. During this special week, classes are working on making their own class book and we will have guest readers sharing books with the students.  We will culminate the week with a visit from our favorite performer, Bobaloo!  He visited us last year and the children loved his stories, musical instruments and movement activities.

Saturday Enrichment Program

Our Saturday Enrichment Program has begun!  Free to all NIS families, we are offering Storytime with music, art activities and of course, great storybooks.  This program is designed for preschool children and their parents. We still have a few openings available.  If you are interested, call Betsy Kaplan at 631 924 5583.
