Petting Zoo at NIS

Chickens, rabbits, sheep and goats visited NIS to the delight of our students!  The petting zoo arrived and set up corrals outside.  The children had the opportunity to feed the animals and of course, pet them.  The animals were very cooperative by nibbling food that the children offered.  In preparation for this activity, the teachers talked about the feel of different textures (soft, rough, furry) children would feel when they petted the animals.  A funny moment occurred when a teacher asked a little boy who was petting a rabbit "How does the rabbit feel?" and the boy replied, "Happy!."
