October Updates From NIS

 

Clifford made his appearance at FAMILY FUN NIGHT on September 17, 2013!  We loved seeing so many NIS students and their families enjoying themselves! 

Orientation for Horseback Riding was on October 9th. 


KIDS STUFF COUPON BOOK FUNDRAISER

Thank you for purchasing or returning the 2013 Kids Stuff Coupon books.  As indicated on the flyer in your child's backpack, the deadline for payments and/or returned books is this Friday, October 11, 2013.  We hope you enjoy the savings from the book, and thank you for helping raise funds for NIS!

 

Please join us this Friday, October 11, 2013, at 9:45 AM for our first official Parent Council Meeting of the school year.  This is a great opportunity for parents to get to know one another and share ideas.  Your input is greatly valued.  We hope to see you there!


Please remember school is closed on Monday, October 14th in observance of Columbus Day.

MEET BUMI! 

Bumi is one of the therapy dogs that visits the children at NIS throughout the year.  Bumi has visited four of our classes so far, and will be back to visit four more on October 17, 2013.  All of the students at NIS will have the opportunity to have a special therapy dog visit their classes by the end of the year.  The children truly enjoy seeing and interacting with the dog and it amazes us to watch them benefit from his visits.

Saturday Enrichment begins October 19, 2013 and runs through November 16th.

 

PICTURE DAY IS COMING!

A professional photographer is coming to NIS on October 22nd, 23rd, and 28th.  You should have received information in your child's backpack as to which day the photographer will be taking pictures of your child's class.

October 23rd -December 18th, 7-8pm

 

 

HAPPY HALLOWEEN FROM NIS!

Halloween is just around the corner, and NIS will celebrate by having students and their family members go pumpkin picking and see farm animals on October 29th (rain date: October 30th).  The children will also be in a Halloween Parade on October 31st!
It's sure to be a fun special event for all!
